Laser therapy is a physical treatment method that utilizes light of a specific wavelength (laser beams) to targetedly and selectively treat or break down specific structures within the skin.
Different laser systems are designed for specific clinical indications. For example, a laser whose energy is absorbed by red blood pigment (hemoglobin) can reduce fine facial blood vessels. A laser system targeting brown pigment (melanin) is ideal for treating age spots and hyperpigmentation.
