Surgical Removal of Malignant and Benign Skin Lesions

We perform outpatient surgical procedures to remove skin cancer, precancerous skin lesions, atypical moles, and skin lesions requiring diagnostic evaluation directly in our practice. When necessary, benign lesions can also be surgically removed. Our surgical spectrum also includes skin biopsies for accurate diagnostic evaluation of complex skin conditions.

What Should You Consider Before a Procedure?

All procedures are performed under local anesthesia (numbing of the specific treatment area). You may eat normally on the day of your surgery and maintain most of your usual routine afterward. As a general rule, blood thinners do not need to be discontinued prior to the procedure.

We will provide you with detailed pre- and post-operative instructions tailored to your specific procedure during a pre-surgical consultation. For particularly large or complex surgical cases, we will refer you to an outpatient hospital clinic or specialized surgical facility.

Which Procedures Do We Perform?

• Removal of non-melanoma skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma) and precancerous conditions (e.g., actinic keratoses)

• Removal of melanoma (black skin cancer) and suspicious moles (nevi)

• Removal of ambiguous or unclassified skin lesions

• Removal of cysts and superficial lipomas when clinically indicated

• Removal of seborrheic keratoses (age spots/warts) or skin tags (fibromas) if they cause irritation or cosmetic concern

• Punch biopsies (using 3–6 mm punch diameters) to confirm a diagnosis
